DAF Grants may be Denied: Are You Ready to Respond?

< Back to Home

,

Grants from a Donor Advised Fund are being denied by DAF sponsors, when the grantee organization is deemed by the sponsor to be a hate organization, or, at times, when the grant is at odds with the sponsor’s own mission. This module explores the implications for advisors seeking to explain DAFs properly and to make suitable recommendations.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this learning activity, you will confidently be able to:

  • State why certain grants are denied by DAF sponsors.
  • Explain the extent to which DAF grants may be anonymous as to the donor.
  • Explain the extent to which DAF grants are showing on the sponsor’s own 990.
  • Explain accurately to clients the possibility that a grant may be denied.
