This program is designed to educate advisors on five of the most critical planning considerations when working with clients who are aging parents of adult children with disabilities. The topics covered will include: A review of the various legal documents typically required in this situation, how to develop a multi-disciplinary team of professionals for your client, essential public benefits, how to plan for various care options, and asset protection and utilization planning for the parents themselves. Interwoven throughout the program is a discussion of ethical considerations, along with practical illustrations using real case scenarios.

- Identify and understand the key legal documents and measures that parents of adult children with disabilities need to have in place
- Learn how to develop a multidisciplinary team to support your client, who should be on that team and where to find them
- Identify the public benefits that are available to support clients who are in this situation and review options for maximizing them
- Recognize what care options are available and how to pay for them
- Review asset protection options available for all older adults and learn how they combine with special needs planning for adult disabled children
